The Philadelphia based Poet, Dj, Producer and musician Rich Medina’s unmistakeable tones are as deep as the spoken-word he writes and performs. From the philosophical ponderings of the Steal Vybe produced ‘Spiritual Life’ (SpaceKat Records), to his deconstruction of the state of play on Dj Spinna’s ‘Reality’ (Wonderwax) and his own powerful album ‘Connecting the dots’ (2005), Rich’s message hits home with much gravitas and relevance, not dissimilar to the poignant work of fellow U.S lyricist Ursula Rucker. His singles and remixes have graced respected imprints like Diaspora, Invincis, Bluenote, Ubiquity, Igloo, Estereo and Sonar Kollectiv. Medina has collaborated and produced with Jill Scott, Platinum Pied Pipers, King Britt, Dj Spinna and of course Jafar & Touch. Rich recently gave birth to a baby boy and alongside Demarkus Lewis, is easily the tallest man we know.
