The Smoke is the collective studio output from UK stalwarts and all round scenesters, Terry Farley, Dave Jarvis and Uschi Classen. Known individually for their respective Farley and Heller, Original Soulboy and Blackscience Orchestra releases, Terry and Dave are of course founding members of the London based ‘Faith Fanzine’ collective, a series of stellar underground parties and long-running fanzine. Terry’s Junior Boys Own label continues to be at the peak of its game, whilst the fanzine’s ‘Strobelight Honey’ mag laughs in the face of mainstream dance journalism, more concerned as it is, with fashion and fads, than House music’s true calling. Terry lives with his wife and kids in Teddington, loves Chelsea football club, pie, mash and 80s trainers. Dave resides in Kingston and has the biggest collection of record label t-shirts south of the river. Uschi is the prettiest studio engineer in existance.
