After spending last year knee deep in AstroTurf UPTOWNBOOGIEDOWN returns to Carnival this Monday. We step things up another notch, partnering with our good friends DISCO GEISHA, run by the brilliant Tomoki Tamura (anyone remember him joining Jafar, Maxime and Andy at Neighbourhood, will know this boy slams it. With a wealth of tracks on the likes of Four: Twenty & Satoshi Tomie’s Saw imprint, it comes as no surprise)..
Sadly, we must mention again, our loveable Maxime Cescau is on tour that weekend, so, representing the Artizan alongside Jafar, will be the welcome return of man like Toby Phickle from the excellent Jerk Parties (the bump, the roll, the jack, the jerk..). Meanwhile, Tomoki will be joined by his ace residents Eightbitrate, Naoki Shimizu, Supermethod and many more. There’s also live percussion from Lil Dom and Carnival Sushi from Juzu!! Nuff said!
Kick off is 4pm on Carnival Monday AUGUST 31ST and runs till 2am. Its free entry before 6pm and a reasonable £6 till 8pm, more thereafter. BUT BE WARNED…with an average 2million people at Carnival every year, venues fill up quick smart. We were one in one out by 6pm last year so don’t leave it too late!!
