We proudly announce that the Dallas dynamo, the Texan Titan Demarkus Lewis is finally making a welcome return to Artizan Music this Summer. Although the D-man hooked up with Poussez’s Maxime Cescau for a collaboration on ‘Tussy Pickler’ (ARTMD009), we’ve actually been hounding our good friend to get his lanky ass back in the studio since his brilliant Artizan debut (ARTMD007) back in 2009!! (yes three years is a lot of nagging)..

Well fear not, the results are well worth the wait! Blending that trademark Demarkus tracky groove and percussive chi-town beats, with gorgeous filtered vocals not a million miles from classic Dj Sneak sounds, all the while giving a decent head nod to more modern, stripped-back European Deep House. It’s Absolute class and we’ll tease you with a sneak preview soon!

That drops later this year with remixes from Poussez…and perhaps you!!? Yes, we are going to be running a remix competition so watch this space..

All our London fans will be very familiar with Brick Lane’s thriving nightlife scene; 93ft East, Vibe Bar, BrickHouse, Rhythm Factory, Big Chill Bar and of course Cafe 1001.  Located slap bang in the thick of the action at the infamous Truman Brewery, Cafe1001 is a brilliant club, bar, chill lounge and offers the perfect combination of elements (food, energy juices, alcohol etc), to kick start your evenings shenanigans..

Saturday 10th March sees us join our old friend Paddy Freeform from the excellent Universal Vibes record label (home to a Poussez release or two!) in the main club space. Its a FREE session of proper deep house and warm techno, piped through FUNKTION1 sound 7pm-midnight..

Maxime Cescau is away taking the Artizan vibes to the middle east so Jafar will represent the Poussez, for a 5 hour b2b with UV head honcho Mister Freeform…

Smok a.k.a. Juha Moisala was born and raised in Oulu,
the most populous city in Northern Finland. He first became
interested in electronic dance music in the late ’90s while
visiting local events and from then on house music has played
a big part in his life, both as a DJ and as an artist.
During this time he has developed his own distinct style
which borrows influences from the Northern Finland electronic music scene.

He made his first public performance as a DJ at a local club
and since this first gig in 2002, he has played in numerous
clubs and parties. A few years into DJing, he became
interested in producing his own music. In his own productions
he has focused on deep house and the first release on Audiotonic Music
was supported by names such as Shur-I-Kan and Funk D’Void.

Despite his love for house music he has developed a more
versatile musical taste over the years and as a DJ you
might hear him play dance music from deep and soulful house to drum’n'bass.

Yes peoples, Artizan Music is getting its jog on at this years Virgin London Marathon, Poussez’s very own Jafar will be running 26 miles for The Rainforest Foundation who protect the Amazonian Rainforests and rights of indigenous tribes..

Join us then for this little fundraising party in conjunction with our good friend and fellow Marathon runner Franc ‘Kid Fiesta’ Gooding (he of the Bloom Festival fame!). Franc’s chosen charity is Ability Bow who help disabled and injured people get back on their feet..

Joining Poussez and Kid Fiesta on the wheels is a mahooosive all-star cast including DubPistols frontman Barry Ashworth, East Village lynchpin Stuart Patterson, Reverberations superb Asad Rizvi, Holic’s number one Japanese House hero Tomoki Tamura, Ben Watt’s Buzzin Fly wingman Chris Woodward,  Lost My Dog’s Tom Lown, Size Doesn’t Matters’ lethal 7″ turntablists Simon Kurrage & Mr Shiver, Intercity’s Scott D’Souza, Mimo’s Chris Mimo, Basis’ Nick Ronin, Jerk’s Toby Phickle annnd finally UTBD’s wizard percussionist Lil Dom..

Its a mere £3 between 5-9pm and minimum £5 donation thereafter..ALL proceeds to The Rainforest Foundation & Ability Bow..
